BOSTON, July 15, 2019 – Today, STEAM Boston LLC, digital media website for students and professionals in the “Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics” field, launches its newly revamped job board. It has been 11 months since the start of STEAM Boston, and the team has been preparing for a product that will help companies find fantastic talent in Boston’s booming ecosystem. The job board also aims to help job seekers find jobs catered explicitly to the “Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics” field (STEAM).
The job board has four different packages that employers can purchase. For a single job posting, it will cost $99.99 with a job posting length of 45 days. For three job postings, it will cost $249.99 with a job posting length of 45 days. For five job postings, it will cost $449.99 with a job posting length of 45 days. For ten job postings, it will cost $949.99. Custom packages are available by emailing [email protected].
The STEAM Boston Job Board aims to help organizations with recruiting the best and most diverse talent in the STEAM field with these three goals implemented:
- Help companies attract the best and diverse talents in the STEAM field around the Greater Boston area.
- Feature amazing companies in the Greater Boston area, contributing to the STEAM ecosystem.
- Assist students & professionals in the STEAM field by finding the best jobs in the Greater Boston area.
“We’re thrilled to have launched a product to help companies find the best talent and help job-seekers find positions related to the STEAM field,” said William Ma, STEAM Boston’s CEO & Co-Founder.
“This will change the way students, professionals, and recruiters hire talent in the STEAM and STEM field. By offering the best of the best.” Kunle Lawal, STEAM Boston’s COO & Co-Founder
“It’s a good way for employers to diversify their hiring pool with top talent in the Boston area.” Marcus Fergus, STEAM Boston’s CSO
For Q1 2019, there were 9000+ page views for the website with social media accounting for 45.94% of the traffic. Twitter impressions for Q1 2019 were 132,900, and Linkedin impressions were 15,574. Our age demographic in Q1 2019, 16.27% of users were the ages of 18-24, 42.48% were the ages of 25-34, 19.48% of the users were 35-44, and 14.36% of the users were 45-54.
Organizations might say the talent pool is too small, but the real issue is that the pipeline itself is leaky. The “pipeline problem” is a theory that there aren’t enough underrepresented groups for hire. The STEAM Boston job board aims to help organizations fill the pipeline gap by featuring students & professionals from underrepresented groups. Thus, inspiring the Greater Boston community to pursue careers in the STEAM fields.
About STEAM Boston
STEAM Boston LLC started in August 2018 when Co-Founder William Ma and Co-Founder Kunle Lawal saw that there weren’t many websites focusing on representing students and professionals in the STEAM field in the Greater Boston area. The idea stemmed from the two Co-Founders having experience with job search fatigue, classmates who were without opportunities and a significant lack of information for new and aged STEAM job seekers in general. They created STEAM Boston to highlight the untold stories of individuals and organizations, making a difference in the STEAM and STEM fields in the Greater Boston area.
